Buckman Flair PromoThis week your photographic challenge picks up on this weeks image collection – 25 Dreaming Images Shot Wide Open.

The images in the collection were all shot with large Apertures. Remember a large aperture (a big wide open hole in your lens) translates to a low number. So the shots all taken in the image collection this week were taken at between f0.95 and f1.8.

You might not have a camera that has an aperture that big – but your challenge this week is to use the largest aperture you have available to you and to take and share a shot at that.

The result will hopefully be an image that has as Depth of Field as possible. Note: there are other factors that also impact depth of field.

This challenge can be used in many types of photography – portraiture, street photography, macro photography, still life, food photography… etc

Once you’ve selected the ‘Wide Open’ image that you’d like to share – upload it to your favourite photo sharing site or blog and either share a link to it or – embed them in the comments using the our new tool to do so.

Remember these challenges are not just about finding pictures in your archives to share – we’d really love to see you getting out your camera and taking a new photo – after all that’s what dPS is about, helping you take better shots rather than just celebrating past shots.

If you tag your photos on Flickr, Instagram, Twitter or other sites with Tagging tag them as #DPSWIDEOPEN to help others find them. Linking back to this page might also help others know what you’re doing so that they can share in the fun.
