Weekend Landscape Photography Challenge
The weekend is here (at least it is here in Australia) and so it’s time for a little group photography challenge.
This weekend your task is to drag yourself out of the house and away from the computer (DPS will still be here when you get back), to grab your camera and to get out there and take some Landscape shots.
If you can’t get out into the countryside your landscape photography could be more of an Urban landscape – but by the end of the weekend come back to this post and share your best Landscape shot from the weekend.
To share it simply upload it to your favorite photosharing site (like Flickr) or to your blog/photoblog and then share a link to the page where your best landscape shot is. If you’re able we’d appreciate you noting in on your photosharing page that you’re participating in this challenge (a link back to DPS would help spread word of the challenge too – but it’s not mandatory).
Next week I’ll go through the images submitted and put together an image collection for everyone to see with some of the shots that I enjoyed (by leaving an image you give us permission to republish it in that post – if you don’t want it to be included please note that in your comment).
Before you grab your camera and head out to take some shots – here’s a little pre-reading on the topic to get you shooting to your best!

Hey, I will take the challenge. I am actually visiting your city of Melbourne at the moment from Los Angeles with friends that live here right by Parliament. I visited the Nobie’s and I might have a good candidate from that experience.
Cheers

Great challenge idea. It would be nice if people actually link to images they took THIS weekend as opposed to a great one they took last week, month etc as the idea (as I read it) is to get out this weekend and take a photo. I’ll attempt mine tomorrow……..

I know its early but last night was such a crisp and clear night that I figured it was now or never to take a super cliche long exposure night skyline picture. It turned out rather well but I now see why I should add a wide angle lens to my bag.

I just created a blog so I can participate in these challenges. My landscape is in the ‘country’ of NE Oregon. I’m concerned that I don’t have an obvious focal point. Thanks for the challenge.

Tough remit given the great shot used in the article. Here’s my contribution anyway. Taken today from Killiney Hill – a short walk from my home near Dublin. Looking out towards Bray Head.

I don’t know if you can download this, as Shutterfly is new to me. It was taken with a Canon G10 of the lighthouse on Paradise Island on 8/14/2009 from the Carnival Glory. The early afternoon sun illuminated the Atlantis Resort in the background. Notice the couple exploring by the lighthouse. A polarizer was used when taking the photo.

Here’s my go at Weekend Landscape Challenge. I took this at a friends home out near Capac, Michigan, USA. They have an old farm on 40 acres (and a mule). There are several broken down trucks from years gone by. The contast between the old and the new caught my attention. There was a little post processing involved using a technique to achieve the Lomo Effect. Not sure how effective the effect was on this photograph.
