Default Looking for a curves tutorial

Anyone know of any good curves tutorial? I've been playing around with it, but I know my images could look better with a correct explanation.

here's one Using the Photoshop Curves Tool

another thing not mentioned there is - to get rid of an unwanted anchor point on a curve, latch onto it with the mouse and flick it quickly to one side

another point is - to find exactly where a colour lies on the curve, hold ctrl and click onto the part of the image you want
