Default A Question About A Question

Got an email from DPS today (I'm sure we all probably got the same email) describing one of their sponsor's products. Is it okay to ask about that product here and get some feedback?

I went through the demo earlier. To me it looked intriguing and pretty easy to use. Has anyone here bought the full version? Any opinions?

Looks pretty cool to me. I was just wondering if anyone out there had actually put it to use and if it ran smoothly.

Is that the software that comes with most Nikon cameras these days? Sorry - I've not tried it. Anyone?

This is a copy of the email. I took it to be a stand alone product, but I know nothing about the Nikon software. I'm a Canon guy.

One of the most common types of emails that I get as editor of DPS is from readers wanting more photographic teaching like the tutorials we offer. They want to go deeper and are looking for something that organizes all the tips into one contained collection of tutorials in a logical order.

The 123 of Digital Imaging is that resource

Note: we want to be up front with you on this - 123di is a sponsor of DPS. While we genuinely recommend them (we get a lot of very positive feedback from our community about them) we do want you to be aware that they're a sponsor and help to grow DPS as a community.

Available either as a download or on CD for both PC and Macs The 123 of Digital Imaging has a lot going for it including that it:
covers 173 topics on all aspects of digital photography (see table of contents)

has over 5000 pages of information
has sections for beginners, intermediate and advanced photographers
has been recommended widely by many respected photography sites and magazines as well as thousands of individuals (read some testimonials)
has been through numerous developments over the years - they've only recently updated to version 6.

In addition to this it has a free demo download so you can check it out for yourself with no obligation.

If you're looking for a learning resource to invest into to improve your photography I do recommend you check out The 123 of Digital Imaging. I think it makes a great companion for the Digital Photography School - check them out for yourself here.

Digital Photography School Editor

PS: I just received an email from a reader by the name of Geoff who just purchased this resource - his main comment:

"It is a magnificent resource - the best I have ever read, worth more than twice its price and I would endorse it anytime!"

Hmm - I shall check it out... I've not used it as I said... I'm certain someone will have, though.

This isn't getting much interest. Maybe I should change the tile of the thread to "The 123 of Digital Imaging" and give their link.
