In the desert we occasionally experience something known to most of you as weather. Instead, we mostly enjoy climate. It's a real challenge, in fact, to be a weather newscaster here in Tucson. After all, how many ways can you say "Sunny"? You should see the smiles on their faces when they actually get to report weather. Dusty adjectives get brought out of the mothballs and they get a twinkle in their eyes as they proclaim "Rain" and "Clouds" in as many variations as you can think of. But just try to imagine what happens when it snows! Why they begin thinking their jobs may be secure after all. So...we had rain, we had clouds, and we awakened several days ago to this delightful blanket of snow across the top of the Catalinas (featured here), the Rincons to the east and the Santa Ritas to the south. Ta dum! Desert Snow!

You beat me to it, Linda!! I was scouting around yesterday to find a decent looking Saguaro with the snow in the background!! Yours definitely did it more justice than mine would have! Well done, young lady!!

One of the first things I noticed coming from New England where they say if you don't like the weather, wait a minute....to Tucson..was the weather forecast. It never changed. I thought, how do they keep their jobs when they have nothing to say? It was quite a change.
Linda, these are beautiful shots...especially the first which is my personal favorite. But they are all wonderful.

Beauties Linda. All gorgeous. I love the lighting in the last too. And Leona is right about "waiting a minute" in New England! I think meteorologists here have a hard time for the opposite reason to those in the south west - the weather can change even as they're reporting it! Hehe!

Isn't it wonderful to have weather every now and then? These are just beautiful. I especially love the soft colors and lighting in the last one. And of course the tree and the prickly pear in the first. And wait a minute ..... is that a hawk in the upper left corner? I'm so glad you had some camera time!
