Hi there - were you standing on something high when you took this photo ... those birds are pretty tall ... you are eye to eye with it

That's awesome. Whenever I go to the zoo here there is one certain emu that follows me. I like playing with him through the fence. Great capture...

OMG....what kind of a midevil looking bird is that? The eyes are something that would give you nightmares.....great pic, I wouldn't get to close.

I was standing behind a fence and stood on it so I gained about half a meter of height. I hand fed it and it was waiting for more food and showing interest in the box that I was putting to my face.

Thanks for your comment. It is an Emu, is an australian running bird similar to the ostrich but not as big.

Thank you. My cousin, his girlfriend and my wife were a bit wary of the proximity with the emu.

LOL! It is an emu. I think there are many people that share your feelings about getting too close to it. Thanks for the compliments about the picture. No nightmares thought.
