Default Mid Day Moon Over Tokyo

...can't think of a good title...still too sleepy...

In Tokyo right now on business and went out to Meiji Jingu Shrine to pick up some charms. While there I happened to see the moon out at a bit before 2pm on a very sunny beautiful day.

Panasonic GF-1 with 45mm f/2.8 lens
1/800 sec @ f/4.5
ISO 100
Post processed in Lightroom 2

Wonderful. Love the composition, with all that sky -- really makes the moon and the rooftop stand out.

Thanks! It's funny...when my mom saw this on my blog she had no idea why I put in so much sky...but I also didn't want to do any PP to make the moon bigger. Wanted to keep it natural

This is a wonderful image! I love Meiji Jingu; it's one of my favorite places in Tokyo. Great image!

Thanks everyone It was one of the only ways to take a photo without getting throngs of tourists and visitors in the shot! It's still close to the New Year so many people were coming to buy their charms and give offerings. The place was a zoo!

I was so inspired by this image that when I saw the moon today, I had to make an image myself. It's not nearly as good as yours but here it is...

Daylight moon over Shitennoji temple

This is the pagoda at Shitennoji Temple in Osaka. It's not nearly as nice as Meiji Jingu, but it was on the way home.

Thanks for the inspiration!
