Default How did I get here? Celebrating 3000!!

Well, well, well. Here we are at 3,000. My doesn’t time fly! I can’t tell you what a great ride it’s been so far! Little did I know when I started out here on DPS that I’d learn as much as I did. I’ve been in and out of photography for 25 years, but everything up to about 10 months ago has been little more than a warm up---life experience to help me see things I didn’t see when I was 18.

Now at 43, I don’t see just a tree on a hill. I see perseverance embodied. I don’t see just a hummingbird. I see the beauty and miracle of nature in 1/8000th of a second. I don’t see 96 names on my DPS Friends list. I see 96 souls who share a passion….for photography, yes, but most of all, for life…and the desire to share it with everyone around us through the eyes of our cameras.

I can honestly say that every time I click the shutter, there’s a little bit of every one of you in the shot. Every facet of every shot has been influenced by at least one of you---be it composition, exposure, evaluation of the light, DOF, or post-processing.

Spartacus and I thank you for all your wonderful support and comments over the last 3,000!! I can’t wait to see what the next 3,000 yields!! Here are a few celebratory shots from my recent exploits!

Be well, my friends!!

A beautiful creature...
Mountain Lion Beauty

German Jingle Bells
Jingle Bells...of a different sort

Sunset over the Saguaro National Monument...
Saguaro Natl Monument

...and finally, one of my favorites converted to sepia. This will be hanging in our family room as a 30x40 very soon...cuz the wife says so!
Sepia Tree

See you on the other side of 3,000!!!

I will tell you how you reached this milestone my friend, by being a genuine guy who always tries to support and encourage others in their art and threads and who has a genuine love of this field we are all so interested in. It has been a pleasure to review and enjoy your images and I for one look forward to doing it with many many more. Thanks for being there and sharing your fabulous work with us Jim.
God Bless.
David.

How did I get here? Celebrating 3000!!

I know how you got here, it's as easy as 1 to 3(ooo)
1, By being a creative and talented practioner who captures and presents pictures of the highest quality.
2, By being someone who has the respect of many members and by encouraging and supporting others.
3, By having a talking camera called Spartacus

Well done Mayor Jim, I raise a toast and celebrate 3000 posts with you and the other residents of Cropodopolis
