I'm loving my new flash
![]() I've always hated the on board flash and how harsh the light was. Canon's budget flash head tilts upward (at various angles) so that you can bounce the light to give really nice defuse lighting. The flash head doesn't swivel left to right like the higher end models so you can only bounce off the wall with the camera in "portrait" orientation bounced off ceiling ![]() bounced off the wall ![]() I probably should have used a reflector on the other side to reduce the amount of deep shadowing on the right side but hay I'm still learning

Good job portraiting that sweet child.
A flash like that is in my buying list too, should be great taking photo with it.

I like the 270ex cos its very compact though it doesn't have all the whistles and bells the higher end flashes have. It has an on/off switch and the flash head tilts - that's it.
I don't know if there's an equivalent model for other flash manufacturers? btw - the baby is my second daughter who is now 3mths old
