I started a 52 photowalk project at the dawn of the new year, and here I am with my photos from my 3rd walk.
For photowalk 3 of 52 (#4 this weekend, I managed to get editing done in time!) I decided to go shoot an arched birch tree in our back yard. I can't say I was super inspired - I loved the idea of the tree, but the blah day didn't do me any favours colour or inspiration wise. However - this week I found mcpactions.com and downloaded some of her free actions. I used a couple in these, watermark on one, trial gallery borders and painting with light and dark. I may have darkened the trees too much, but otherwise, I managed to do things to these in photoshop and lightroom that made them worth keeping, if not hanging on my wall. The picture of our new dog, Stacy or Anastacia, was a sort of accident, I just happened to click a top down of her while I was standing around. It is however, my favourite of the day. Here they are, feel free to comment and critique. I am also posting all my photowalks, lessons learned and resources etc. on my new photoblog at jclossphoto.wordpress.com if anyone is interested in following along. ![]() Tree Arch. I may have darkened the foreground too much, but it looks pretty good to me. ![]() Bark close up. I liked how I framed this one, that’s what made it a keeper over the other more traditional depth of field focus in the bottom of the image. ![]() Stacy. Our Maremma Sheepdog, she’s about 9 weeks and very little still. I liked the different viewpoint on this photo – it was a bit of an accident as noted above, but was my favourite of the day. |
