Sinners In The Hands
----- To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. Deuteronomy 32:35. ----- 1700s America was home to a deeply religious movement, The Great Awakening. This movement was a fundamentalist Christian movement, and its theological teachings can be summarized by Jonathan Edwards' sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" which more or less views humans as the rag dolls of God and that at anytime, he may wish to throw us into the fiery pits of hell. This shot reminded me of the fury and intensity that is captured in the words of this sermon. I think it is an interesting thing on the views of God then, versus the much less violent images of God now. Never the less, this is my shot attempting to capture the feelings of the sermon. If you are interested, the sermon can be found at : Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. I took this shot sometime during last summer with my girlfriend while we were sitting around at my little brothers tee ball game. Thought it was a very interesting cloud form. Shot with a D90 with the 18-105 kit lens. Sinners In The Hands ---- ![]() ----- Thanks for checking the shot out -KT
