Default My growing love of small things......flowering gum trees

My relationship with macro photography is growing quickly. This morning, before the thermometer hit 42degrees (107 for those still living in fahrenheit), I popped across the road to grab some shots of my neighbour's Eucalyptus ficifolia (ie, the imaginatively named red flowering gum).

In all my travels around the world, I don't think I've ever come across a tree with such vivid blossoms. The bees loved it too.

Very pretty...never seen one before......I really like how the buds accentuate the curvy feel of the shot by following the curve of the blossom...compositional gold!

The flower by itself is quite nice, the bee makes the shot that much more. Well done.

Oh, I really love this one! Glorious colors, beautiful bokeh, and that bee makes it delightful!
