Default It has been a while....

just thought I would pop in and say hi to all my wonderful friends here. Those that remember me know that eagles are usually the subject of my photos but yesterday I was both thrilled and surprised to find a red tailed hawk down on the pier. The little guy was in an awkward position to photograph and refused to turn around for me. He was facing the water so I could not get to the other side. He did not stay around long either and I was truly fortunate to capture this picture before he flew off into oblivion. Well a backside view is better than nothing ..

red-tail

Then I found this guy taking a bath in a secluded corner behind a rock...

bird-bath

the set would not be complete without a comical seagull doing the usual balancing act..

gull

or the little guy flying into a tree on my way back..

Barb, it's so weird - just last night I was thinking of you and wondering where you've been!

And you're back with a bang! What a gorgeous bunch of SHOTS.

I've always admired your work with birds and have missed seeing your work...welcome back, and please don't stay gone for so long again!

Hi Barb.. You have been missed around here..Your work has been missed too and these captures show why. So much detail. Wow for each one of them. The gull one is my favourite. Perfect timing. Nice to see you back Barb.

Dave.

Patrick I love that old decrepid house and to answer your question yes and no. I have the photo already uploaded to a site to print it on canvas for me just have not yet pulled the trigger for the actual purchase. With Christmas and children and grandchildren I will have to wait a little longer before I can spoil myself.

Thank you Dave. I almost clipped the wing on that gull as I did not expect him to stretch it out that far. I was able to get quite close to him and thought I had left plenty of room in the composition for anything especially as they dip down before they fly off and I usually clip the feet! ASluck would have it the wing tip just made it into the photo.

great set! .. The hawk so crisp, the crow (?) clean as a whistle, the little guy in the bush so at home.. but the gull's feet position is a fantastic capture .. really nice
