Default Sonoran Desert Museum and 70 Degrees outside!

...so we took our kids out to the Sonoran Desert Museum, a must-see destination when visiting Tucson. Here are a few shots from our visit yesterday.

The first is from the daily Raptor Free-flight demonstration. Spectacular! ...and some of the most beautiful Harris' Hawks you'll ever see!! I was late getting to the area, so didn't get a good view of the low level flights. I'm going back next week solely for the hawks Just wait!

15 Minutes could save you 15%.....yadda yadda yadda. He's not a gecko, but he's got that wry smile just the same!!

...and admittedly, I do have an affinity for snakes. This guy's eyes were amazing. Even the eye turns camouflage! I converted him to b/w and boosted contrast to show the dramatic eye!

...and last but, certainly not least, this gorgeous Mountain Lion. I guess I was boring her!

A fantastic collection Jim! All amazing - LOVE the first one, what an awesome shot anyway, but that blue sky is my kind of sky! Love the reptile shots, really fabulous - the eye is great indeed! And the lion is my fave I think - spectacular capture, & love the bokeh! I've missed you Jim!

Nice set, Jim. I like the PP on the snake. It really gave the eye more definition and the dof is well done. TFS.

Love all of these. That snake is fascinating. I don't think I've ever seen eyes like that before.

Oh, how I'm longing for 70 degrees . . . we've got a balmy 40 today, but I'm stuck inside.

I love the Desert Museum! What a treat to see these, Jim, especially on a day when Sedona is in the 30's with rain rain rain. I have to admit to liking the snake (never thought I'd say that!) But the bored mountain lion is my favorite -- gorgeous colors and composition.
