Smile en pointe

Hello! Just wanted to share this shot.

my feet. En pointe!

I've always loved pictures of pointe shoes as a little girl, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Anyone have tips on getting the focus a little clearer? I actually set the timer on my camera, and focused on a soda bottle placed appox. where I was going to stand.... but it seems I still didn't get it quite clear.

that looks painful! at 1/30, it is probably movement.,..bump your iso up a notch or two and try to get 1/100th and this may resolve it and maybe your flash at its lowest setting

Hayward- Thanks! It took many years of practice... and I'm still not nearly as good as the pros!

Patrick- Its not as painful as it looks... the front of the shoe is solid, to make it easier for balance, and I have gel padding inside to keep pressure off my joints. Ballerina secrets! I am going to give your suggestions a try tomorrow, and I'll post my results again. :-)

Great Shot, Your Shutter speed is probably a little low for an action shot like this. If you used ambient light, like Patrick said, you'll need to bump the ISO up. If you used a flash, I'd still try to set my Shutter speed to no less than 1/60 even on a tripod.
However that said, this is a really nice shot just the way it is!!!

I did try turning on all the lights I had available! I was trying to stay away from the flash only because the light bounces off the satin shos, and kinda washes everything out. Is there a way to lessen on-board flash?
