![]() I started a new challenge, to learn origami so I started taking pictures of it. See this one bigger : http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20..._kaylaross.png ![]() Trying to play with ideas of how to best present the Origami. I'm thinking of getting a big white bristol board and use some lamps and such.

Yup. DIY macro studio and off-camera flash works for me.
![]() Basically, some kind of seamless background and diffused lighting works great for origami shots. You can use table lamps instead of flashes. just remember to white balance. With the origami itself, though, all I can tell you is that it's not about the folding--it's about sussing out the diagrams and Randlett/Yoshizawa notation. If you find that the simple stuff is too simple, but the complex stuff is too hard, I recommend John Montroll's books from Dover Press. He's the perfect intermediate step between traditional/abstract folding, and the more complex guys like the Tanteidan group guys, Roman Diaz, Robert Lang, or Eric Joisel.
