I, too, would like to know if there is a story behind that boot. What a cool shot! The water looks as smooth as glass and great for skiing. TFS.

Wonderful, Pauline! Love the gum boot and the verse that goes with it -- and wonderful waterskiing photos -- the still reflection of the boat is beautiful along with the action of the skiiers and wakes.

You've been busy Pauline and I like the results .
My favourites here are the middle two, fast boats and skiers on a mirror calm lake creating beautiful reflections and uninhibited swirls on the water

Thankyou Dub One. Yes there is a quite a story attached to that famous gumboot. Taihape is known as the Gumboot Capital Of The World. Being a largely farming area, your gumboots are almost as important as your right arm, and so it became an annual event to having a gumboot throwing day. This year it is on March 20th, 12pm until 12am. It is a really big day for Taihape as people from all over the world take part. They have live bands, stalls etc...you name it, they have it. It is a truly awesome event.
