Default Bruschetta on Crostini (4 of 52.5)

I'm challenging myself to participate in Project 52.5 and seem to have given myself a food theme. This is my latest shot - Bruschetta on Crostini - hope you like it!

Great Shot!! As a newbie with my first DSLR only a month old I have no advice about the photo except that I really like it.

I do however have some feedback as a professional chef . "Bruschetta" roughly means toasted bread rubbed with oil so technically your title reads toasted bread on toasted bread! You have nice marinated chopped tomatoes on top of toasted crostini.

Sorry but one of my biggest pet peeves as a chef is when people misuse cultural recipe names and bastardise them in America. My other one is "with au jus sauce" which translates : with with juice sauce. another great example is Popovers vs Yorkshire Pudding. My best friend loves it when people eat "a Roast" vs Roasted Beef as "roast" is not a noun but a verb.

Sorry for the rant but I hope I've shed some light on the topic of professional cooking and recipe names.

Miikmac, fair enough! And thanks for correcting my terminology. However I'm from Canada where we've adopted bruschetta as the name for the topping so I think I'll stick with it. Glad you all like the shot though! It was a tasty one to prepare (and tear down).

Btw, if you don't mind my asking, what's Project 52.5? Thanks.
Ian
PS. and yes, in this neck of the woods, bruschetta is the topping.
