Default Some shots from my town... and locale

Ok not had much shutter time since my day out so decided to carry the camera with me on a small jaunt into town and a place nearby.

Rheged is a centre near us built into the landscape it is mainly underground to preserve to countryside etc(personally would love to see more like this round here) it has an iMax theatre and shops and all sorts of wonderful things inside (allthough have to say the random togs work displayed in the hall for £350 a piece left me grizzling at quality and composition etc etc)

so here goes...

my home town

given the Yeolde look as it is a old market town this is the town centre.

and a tree...... this was the sum total of a 35 mile round trip to get some shotsin and the only thing I found worth shooting

Nice captures FoG. I love the sepia treatment in the second one, that works really well.

Dave.

you need to go back to the market center....you are missing so much because you see it all the time....phone booths, the clock tower has several opportunites for closer ups and angles, you have two spires to frame into the sky...you have a texture and directional beauty in the curve right under your feet on that cobblestone road, different textures on those bldgs in the rear. I could spend a good hour in that square alone, especially as empty as it is......enjoyed touring your hometown.....beautiful place

I know but this was done in HDR if you look you can see the ghosting of passing cars this place maybe quite quiet but the centre has wayyy too much traffic for getting in too close sadly but I know what you mean I keep looking at the spires etc etc and will get them one day waiting for a quieter time

Beautiful colors on that first one, and what a wonderful concept. And I love your old market town! It would be such fun to see details -- I can imagine wonderful textures and perspectives of close ups in a series with this photo to give the context. The sepia treatment works well on this one.
