Default Ever seen a hole that throws out approx 1 million dollars a week.....

Situated in the Township of Waihi NZ in the Coromandels is one of the largest man made holes in the Southern Hemishere and it's a producing open cast Gold and Silver Mine. They extract approx 1 million dollars a week from it in Gold and Silver, here is my version of it.....

Looking down from the top at the road in and out...

Open cast Mine

The dump Trucks approx 18 feet high that use the road, almost every day in and out,

A big dump truck

A shot taken from a different angle....

Another angle of the mine

And the very bottom of the pit.... a long ways down...

The bottom of the hole

Thanks for viewing, cheers Steve.

Pretty amazing! Gorgeous colors, Steve, and I like your compositions. Here in Arizona we have many open pit mines for copper -- hard to imagine gold and silver!

Interesting, Steve! I'd like to come after the gold truck and pick up the droppings, figure it wouldn't take too long to retire.
