Hello everyone! I am brand new to the boards on DPS! Woohoo! I'm a very novice photographer (most of my good shots come out purely by virtue of luck and a good camera set on "auto!"), but I am very passionate about learning more! I recently went on a 20 day European/New York adventure/cruise, and wanted to share some of my photos from the trip. Tips and kind criticism are welcome! LOL! Thanks!

Why didn't you swing through Lexington and pick me up on your way over there?....I sure missed out! Great looking set of shots....European architecture is so amazingly grand in scale and intricate in workmanship. welcome on board!

Thank you! I feel my composition, for the most part, is good, but I'm really desperate to learn more about how to use the manual settings. My cousin has asked me to photograph her wedding in April and I want to be able to give her a set of GREAT shots! I'm looking into photo classes here, but I'm not sure where to start!

I had an incredible trip! My first time to Europe, and only made me want to go back again and again! Sorry I missed you on this one...maybe for the next trip over I can pick you up on the way! Haha! Just out of curiosity, since you are sort of my neighbor, do you know of any good photography classes in the area?

Are you sure you haven't taken a photography class already? Very nice shots! I noticed that you didn't take the normal, mundane, touristry shots. You did a great job. Check the library or the bookstore for a good book on shooting weddings, I'm sure you'll do well.

No classes yet! Just a really good camera! Thanks for the tip about photo books...I hadn't even thought of that! Definitely less expensive than a class. I just hope I can teach myself from a book rather than having an actual instructor giving me feedback and tips!

You've likely already heard that it's not the camera but the person behind the camera that makes great photos. You've got some excellent ones here. I suggest you might try some creative photography courses at a community college - they're not expensive at all, and you'll learn as much from fellow photographers as you will from the instructor. The assignments will get you into manual mode and you'll likely not go back to auto, ever.

Good luck and keep posting.
