Default Word Games

I rarely take photographs of people. They are a subject, that as viewers, we can relate to most, but I have a hard time capturing those subjects in a context that defines their true character (at least through my eyes).

This is a candid portrait of my mother playing her favourite game. She looked so focused and relaxed. She hates it when I take her picture, but she barely noticed me as I was sitting on the kitchen counter right in front of her with the camera lens practically up her nose...

As always, ENJOY!

Lovely photo! You're so right about the relaxed and focused look. Hope your mom liked it! My mom does the crossword puzzle every morning too; as did my grandmother before her. As for me, well, here I am on DPS every morning instead!
