I rarely take photographs of people. They are a subject, that as viewers, we can relate to most, but I have a hard time capturing those subjects in a context that defines their true character (at least through my eyes).
This is a candid portrait of my mother playing her favourite game. She looked so focused and relaxed. She hates it when I take her picture, but she barely noticed me as I was sitting on the kitchen counter right in front of her with the camera lens practically up her nose... Word Games ![]() As always, ENJOY!

Lovely photo! You're so right about the relaxed and focused look. Hope your mom liked it! My mom does the crossword puzzle every morning too; as did my grandmother before her. As for me, well, here I am on DPS every morning instead!
