Default Malmesbury, Wiltshire - Long Exposure

I am thrilled with my first long exposure shot.
Having run across town to catch the sunset, I missed it by 5 mins!, I waited for the light to fade and experimented with long exposure shots across the water.
Daniels Well, snowy dusk
Let me know what you think.

30 seconds. I took a normal one, which was lovely, but the reflection is sooo much nicer with the 30s polished ice look.
I tried again a few nights later, but there was a breeze. the ripples from the wind ruined it which I was surprised at. Lost its clarity.
cheers, Peely.

That's an awesome capture, beautiful light balance and composition; well worth waiting for.

Thanks everyone.
The only thing that gripes me is that the illuminated cross on the side of the Abbey is 'blown'.
any suggestions on how to improve things before my next attempt?

Nice shot, the water looks smooth and shimmery. To deal with exposure issues, you could use bracketing and take 3 or 5 shots and then use different exposures for certain parts of the picture, a kind of HDR technique
