Default Just another tree photo thread...

There have been a few threads with photos of trees lately, so I thought I would post a couple of my own. I hope you like them.

This is a salmon gum in the front paddock of my sister's property in Bruce Rock in our wheatbelt. You can see it from her kitchen window. I love the way the last rays of sunlight light up the branches. I've taken many photos of this tree over the years, and I think this one is my favourite.
These trees are so magestic. They are one of the varieties found in the wheatbelt. Amazingly the wheatbelt was covered in trees when the first settlers arrived - there are still pockets in reserves and in corners of properties where you can see what it would have been like.

Below are young Boab Trees in our north west Kimberley. I love the way they twine their branches around each other in an embrace. Water is stored in the fibre of the bulbous base which gets bigger and rounder as the tree gets older. They come in many fantastical shapes. I liked the simple aspect of this photo - and yes the sky was that blue - no pp here! - taken with my trusty Canon Power Shot Pro1 - imo the best travel camera.

You will see more of the Kimberly and the wheatbelt if you join my 52 week tour down under in Western Australia.

Very nice, Jill.

In the first, I like how the sun illuminates just the tree and some of the foreground - it makes for nice separation.

And I'd love to see a Boab tree or two in person one day.

Well done.
