Default Weighty Matters

Hello Friends,
I've embarked on a 52 project and I wanted to share my opening shot. I am a pretty big guy and I'm trying to lose some weight. The shot below is myself in front of what has been my constant enemy, the scale. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for looking!

Great shot - love the perspective and B&W processing. Good luck with the project!

You captured that moment superbly there my friend. This is exactly how I feel about scales and my weight. Well done and good luck with the weight loss (remember slow and easy not hard and fast else it all comes back with a bit extra - my experiences....).

Good luck with the 52 project. TFS.

One step at a time Porkchop. Nice pic, I like the composition and processing.

Cheers,

Thanks! I really wish I could have gotten a broader setup shot. I don't have a remote release, but I had my camera tethered to my laptop (which was still behind me because I only have a small USB cable for tethering), After setting my feet I think the REAL shot would have been one of me twisting and contorting, while keeping my feet in the same position, to move the mouse cursor over the shutter button in the Canon software. I think I may have lost some weight already from that!

Thanks Shellie, for the kind words! I am certainly taking precautions against overdoing it. I realize that slow and steady wins the race.

Cheers,
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the processing! I intentionally wanted the left leg dark to add a bit of moodiness to the scene. Almost like a tunnel, of sorts.

Thanks all for taking the time to comment!

I love the shot, it reminds me of how I sneak up to the scale...

Great shot! Composition, perspective, everything! Nicely done!

And about that scale issue...I feel the exact same way.
