Default Lost Vacation Photos

Well...not really. But I wanted to give it that type of look. Like maybe photos or postcards long forgotten from when you were a child (...depending on your age I suppose). Some scratches. Some stains. But still memorable and can take you back there instantly in your mind.

Both taken on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. The first one a beach on the north shore. The second is a beach on the west shore. Beautiful place...need to go back...

Color was post processed all in Lightroom 2 and then the textures (by Florabella textures) were added in Photoshop CS4.

Great treatment, the effect is spot on.

Thanks

Oh, and the beaches are empty at least here because it was incredibly windy and a bit on the chilly side. It was late March in Hawaii. That and Kauai is one of the farthest island off to the west so you don't get as much tourists. Most of the beaches are really nice, quiet, and you can easily get great shots without having to deal with...well...people!

Those are great.
They really do look like old postcards.

Thanks!

And for everyone who would like to do texture work like this to their photos in post, I really really do recommend Florabella Textures (Florabella Collection). Her textures and PS actions are fantastic!! So many different uses!

Ironic isn't it. You can do better job of making new photos look old than I can of cleaning up my 30 year old slides. Well done

Hahahaha. Very true. Though in your defence, it's a lot harder to clean up a slide since color and image information may be forever gone...while with me, all I'm doing is taking away information so it's considerably easier!! Photo restoration, especially when it comes to color, is an art form in itself and something that I loathe doing and try to avoid at all costs!
