Hi Maggie and a warm welcome to DPS. You made a great start, these pictures are excellent. A lovely vibrant red rose and a gogeous suset. The water drops are so sharp in the last two. Welcome to DPS Maggie! This is a great first post, love the colors and detail. You might want to post your dog's picture along with EXIF data, then maybe you could get some suggestions.

Hi maggie, welcome to DPS. Great job with your manual settings. You've gotten great exposures on all of these shots. There is nothing wrong with your dog photo, it just needs the levels adjusted in post processing. Not shure what processing program you are using, but if you bring up the levels tool and move the center slider to the right it will correct the issue. You could also use the curves tool by pulling the center of the line down to get the same result. Here is your pup with some adjustments..........
