Default Airbus A380 World's Biggest Passenger Jet Aircraft

airbus a380

This was taken in late 2005 when the Airbus A380 had not yet been launched. The International Press was abuzz with excitement as to who will be the first airliner to fly the big bird. It was a race down to two: Qantas and Singapore Airlines.
This photo is rare because it is the only time ever that Qantas AND Airbus 380 industries have both logos on the ONE airplane. It will NEVER happen again. This is the maiden flight of the A380 from Sydney to Melbourne. The aircraft flew back to it's manufacturer in France after refueling in Melbourne. It was also it's maiden flight in circumnavigating the globe.

Very cool, one for the books! With an airplane that big, you must have been 3 miles away to get it in the viewfinder. I have seen old stuff like this back when the 747 was brand new. Yours is a great image, well done.

I was about 500 meters from the side edge of the runway. I used a manual focus 300mm Nikkor lens and a D70 camera, handheld, but half kneeling because of strong head winds.
The A380 has one of the most amazingly quite engines I ever encountered. You never felt or heard that it has taken off.
Cheers.
