Default It's Pouring Outside but not here...

It's seriously pouring right now and I'm sick of all this un-California weather so I'm posting these shots of some sunshine...oh, and my cat because he's funny.

I was at a loss for week 2 of my 52 project, the theme was happy. I went on an outing and got nothing because I left my camera battery charging at home (yeah, seriously, I did that). So, I got home and knowing that my cat loves paper bags I strategically placed one in the middle of the kitchen floor. I was hoping he'd get inside the bag which is his usual M.O. but he clearly knew that I needed something and wasn't willing to give it, so I got the last shot of this set.

Palms

Orange Flower

Tacoma Beer

First and second are nicely done. If there werent trees in the background in the second shot, I think, it would've been better. THanx for sharing.

These shots are great, I wish it was warm here! I love the perspective and depth of field you have created in the first two shots. Very well done in all areas!

Nice set Zannie, I really like the palm trees in the sun. Beautiful deep blue sky. It's very nice.

Great set - love the vibrant summery colors to warm us up. And a cool beer thrwon in too. The last shot is priceless - brings a whole new meaning to the brown bag lunch.

Thanks. In the second shot I tried various angles and this was my favorite. My other background choices were my in-laws eating on the restaurant patio, golfers and golf cart, or a large office building...none of which were so hot. I kept this shot because I felt that the trees were uniform in their dark color and the flower was bright enough to stand up against it. Thanks for taking a look, and the input.

Thanks! I'm really flattered. I know the first shot is kind of standard Cali fare but I had to take advantage of an October day that was so beautiful!

Thanks Paul! I'm definitely missing that blue sky right now, we've got a bit but definitely not as nice as that day.

Thanks! It's totally cold to us right now (I won't tell you because it would probably seem warm in comparison!). My husband is from OKC so I know how freezing it gets there. For some reason it wasn't really a struggle to get him to settle in California.

Thanks so much Fred. I took it in Manhattan Beach, I really like that area. With that color, I knew I had to get a picture of the sky that day.

Thanks Steve! Yes, it's a bird of paradise. I found it outside of the place where we had breakfast and loved the colors. Thanks for the cat comment, I don't tell him though...I'm afraid he'll become a diva.

Nice set of shots.
Thanks Leona. Yes, on is almost as good. Now I've got to have my camera at the ready when we put away groceries. I'll catch him in the bag soon enough!

Thanks Nicky. I definitely needed to look at these yesterday, too much overcast yuckiness. Oh, and maybe my cat's new nickname needs to be 'lunch'.
