Default Thunder clapped overhead as I took these shots

Steve and I thought with a day of gorgeous warm weather and no wind sounded like the ideal time to do a bit of gardening and weedspraying. Steve had just finished the weedspraying and put away the spayer and I had just started taking photos of some roses when thunder clapped overhead...I won't repeat the words Steve said, they aren't for nice ears like your's, lol. As I sat processing these shots the sky opened up to heavy rain...um...I think Steve may have to redo the weedspraying.

I find white and red roses are the hardest coloured roses to photograph but here in my attempt anyway...the wind had picked up at this time so they aren't the sharpest quailty.

Rose-Iceberg

Rose

Nature has taken over....

Back in July this climbing rose had snapped in the wind and I was worried it wouldn't survive. As you can see it has grown up and under the spouting which has given it support to stand up straight and strong.

Nature has taken over

I found this little guy hiding in one of my roses Steve thought it maybe a Katydid.

Katydid

Lovely, and I'm very jealous, I can't successfully grow roses here and I just love them.

Wow, great shots. I loved the first one, the white was pure, but it had a lovely texture to it. Great exposure. And then I saw the "katydid" shot and found it also quite stunning. Fun series of photographs to be sure.

Very nice!

Love the red rose.

Looks very much like a katydid. I have a very interesting story about one of those

A nice selection of shots there Angela.

That hungry looking fella is definitely a katydid, though, until I started watching NatGeo programs imported from the US, they were always just bush crickets to me
