Default Some landscape photos with my D40

Hi there,
Although I have an account with this site for about 2 months,this is the first time I am sharing my pics.can I get some sincere suggestions about my photography ie.ways to improve and highlight the drawbacks.

This is actually lovely. If I had taken this, I may have shown more sky, but perhaps it wasn't as spectacular as what you did show? Beautiful.

I'm no expert but one thing that pops to mind is always try to get your horizons level. They both seem to be leaning over a little.

Default Hey steve...

Even I was struck with that tyre ...But I feel the composition must have been more interesting.
Here is one more with the tyre in the foreground.Suggestions please regading this one.
What kind of lens will give a more perfect shot...I used a standard 18-55 one...

welcome to DPS - i agree with Leona regarding the horizon in your first two shots but this is nothing major. The colour difference between the two tyre shots is unusual. In terms of lens i only have an 18-55 on my Canon 1000D and it does for a huge range of shots. What setting are you using i.e. Aperture, Shutter, Manual. Master these and your range of options will multiply

Hey Tim,
I was using Aperture settings.Second one was a Raw file which I modified in CS4..I like it somehow....
