Arrow Join me on my trip - V - Through the desert, we reach the canyon

So after the Hoover dam, driving our way into Arizona, we can already see the mountains.
Its a desert absolutely no one around, few houses here and there
with no access roads and some trailer parks.
Only Cacti and Joshua trees around and some strange looking churches on the way.
Then a few miles of drive on mud road we finally reach Grand canyon west rim.
We are getting down at a common point from where we choose our next activity.

We are still couple of hours from the Canyon and we can already see the mountains

a forest of Joshua Trees on the way

There we are now at the Eagle point on the west rim the Grand canyon, No prize for guessing why is is called the Eagle point :P

Just a few meters away from the Eagle point is the Skywalk, a bridge with glass floor with no support pillars. I stole this from somebody else's camera, so excuse me :-D
[No Camera and Cell phone and bags allowed on the bridge, you'll have to buy the photos from their photographers by paying extra, so a $33 entry for 10 sec walk on the bridge is a disappointment]

From here we are taking a bus to the Guano point just a 10 minutes drive from here.

Looks like we will be seeing some stunning views. Yeaks I hope they did their engineering figures right when they built that lookout! Is a Joshua Tree a cactus?

What a great set AC, I like them all, but particularly the first and third. This place is massive and jaw droppingly beautiful, but clearly at a price. $33.0 and no pictures for a 10 second walk is expensive and I don't even like heights.
Oh well, Cacti and Joshua trees and some strange looking churches, bring 'em on

No pics from the deck?? That's messed up. All they're probably taking is snapshots anyway!! I wouldn't pay a cent for any of THEIR shots!! Nice work. TFS.

Living up to the standard again on this leg AC. There is a sense of excitement as the grand canyon gets closer. We see the occasional Joshua tree in a garden here in UK, but that's the first time I have seen a whole forest of them. And for $33 you stick the walk. I would only throw up anyhow. See you on the next leg. PAUL
