A snowy snap - I am not sure about this- how do I take a pic without the bluey tinge?

hey there, nice composition on the shot. The blueness comes from your camera being confused when selecting the white balance. If you shoot in RAW you can fix this with a simple slider, but if its in Jpeg you may be able to do some curves adjustments in photoshop to fix it.

at least, thats what I figure anyways

Your question was how to "take a snow picture without the bluey tinge," as opposed to post-processing, I believe. Set your white balance to "Shade" setting which warms up the bluish tinge of an area in shadow. Even though your snow may be in bright sunlight and appear white to your eyes, the light reflected off or from ice (think icebergs and glaciers, for example) gives off considerable blue from backscattering. Even so, you may still have to correct the white balance with post-processing. If you're using PhotoShop Elements 7 or 8, go to "Enhance," skip "Auto Balance," and go way down the menu to "Adjust Color," and click on "Correct color cast." You'll get the little eye-dropper pointer; place it over the blue snow and click. This will often make the correction.

I think I may be the only person to like the blue snow.
