Arrow Join me on my trip - IV - Stop over at the Hoover Dam

OK friends, its 5.15 in the morning, time get out of the bed and get ready.
We have a bus to catch at 6, we are going to the world famous natural wonder
Grand Canyon stopping over at the Hoover dam for few quick photos.
Don't worry you wont miss the action in Vegas,
we'll be back to Vegas in the evening just when things start to spice up. Its pretty dry and cold so don't forget your jackets or sweaters...

There you go, the bus is already here, hop in

Now we are just out side of Las vegas, in the Boulder city. What you see right ahead is
Lake Mead, the biggest man made water body in America. Its the water from Hoover dam and we are still about 10 miles away from the dam.

Alright we are at the Hoover dam now,one of the popular locations in the world for Hollywood action Flicks
we have just crossed over into Arizona from Nevada. I Can't believe that was built in 1935.
[on the 2 towers closer to the dam there are 2 clocks one on each tower showing Nevada and Arizona times
thats the first time I saw time change on a road travel :-D]

The 2 angels, a tribute to the 96 workers died during the construction

I hope you enjoyed that sight, we can hear the driver honking for us, lets go it'll be couple of hours before we reach Grand canyon.

Great shots! I'd love to visit the Dam sometime. It's so nice to see it through your eyes first.

Wonderful AC. It's just like being there. The Dam looks very low, had it been drained. The sun seems to be favouring us on the trip though. What sort of distance have we travelled on the days journey? Yes it is a magnificent acievement to say it was 1935 when built, and 96 souls sacrificed in the making. Bless them. Well, I look forward to the Grand Canyon. Loving the trip my friend and all the new facts I am learning. PAUL

Great post of a fascinating place. We were there in 1997 and were able to take the "Dam(n) Tour."
Looking forward to your GC post. It is so amazing, I'm betting you'll need more than one post.

Playing catchup and seeing these out of order, oh well, it doesn't detract from the magnitude of the place and quality of your pictures, great series AC
