Default Frozen river

A couple of shots i took today of the river Tay in Perth
The birds were grateful for a break in the ice?

I have come to the conclusion that birds that swim on ponds like ducks, must have radiators/heaters in their legs else they tuck them up so far into their feathers to not feel the coldness of that pond! Great captures. TFS.

Great set....I hope those birds don't get stuck....I remember a story from some time ago where a goose got stuck in the ice on a pond...(I don't understand how that happened) but the ice froze around him and they had to go rescue the goose....

I really like your first shot. I like the difference between the textures of the roughness of the ice and the smoothness of the river. I also like the contrast between the dark of the river and the white of the ice.

Brrrrrr! I can't imagine how cold that water must be! I love the contrasts in your first photo, very nice!
