Default Venezuelan Sky

This picture is probably what gave me my interest in photography... Taken on an Olympus 2.1 megapixel campact camera (my first digital camera! i'm starting to feel old now). Taken out of the window of a small jet plane on a trip from Venezuela heading to Margarita...

Nice picture from a 2.1. I'm from Venezuela but I live in Texas for a while now. The mountain range after taking off from the main Maiquetia airport are amazing. TFS

Wow, what a shot though! Love the perspective you captured Gary. Looks great in B&W too. I've never managed to get any even vaguely half decent shot from any plane, no matter what camera I'm using. This is wonderful.

Obijuan, it is a spectacular country, we'd been to Angel Falls in Canaima and got rained in for a few days. This was just after take off once the storm cleared.

Chiwalatta, yes, it is a beautiful country. I love Venezuela but between Chavez and the murder rate is getting harder and harder to visit. My entire family still there. I was a tour guide in the Amazon from 13 years old to 22. I met a beautiful American and got married. We now have to kids. I miss Venezuela. Maybe someday comes back to normal and I can move back or retire there.

I will have a look and see if I have any other decent shots from my trip, I was not into photography so much back then and it was a basic 2.1 megapixel... I hope someday to go back, as it was that holiday that inspired my love for travel, and therefore photography...
