Default Light It Up

I took this shot the other day, playing with the light painting technique for the first time ever. It is a model airplane I bought the other day, sat on a table in the dark.

I'm pleased with the way the lighting turned out, I like that, but there have been other small things about the shot that have annoyed me. The wood grain just doesn't really look good, at all. I enjoyed the shot though!

Model: NIKON D90
ISO: 800
Exposure: 6.0 sec
Aperture: 25.0
Focal Length: 26mm

Any suggestions, etc are welcome, won't bother me! Enjoy!

I like it a lot too. The wood grain is actually the last thing I noticed since the blue light is such an attention grabber. What is it about the grain you didn't like?

It just looks so fake, the goal of the shot really was to make you feel like its not a model airplane, while still keeping the "feel" of the picture. The blue light does take quite a lot of attention away from the grain though. I guess I didn't like how it (the wood) handled the lights put on it.

Default Another Shot!

Model: NIKON D90
ISO: n/a
Exposure: 1/8 sec
Aperture: 36.0
Focal Length: 62mm

I took this the night before the airplane shot in my living room. I just pointed up at the fan and shot. I rotated, leveled, sharpened in PP work. Let me know what you think!
