Default Frozen in Time

I'm not sure what I was trying to accomplish with this photo because it's not really my style. But I wasn't going to let a rose frozen in ice pass me by without taking a picture of it.

Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture: f/6.3

Wow this is amazing - I love it - the concept, the colour and the photo itself.

But then I love taking photos of roses. Is this rose frozen in a block of ice? Where was this taken? I am really curious to know what they have done with the rose. TFS

It's a New Years Eve punch bowl made out of ice. They put roses in the water before it was frozen and sculpted. The New Years Eve event where this was at was at my job. I saw the ice punch bowl during the party but I didn't notice it had roses in it until I saw it yesterday. Someone put it outside in the back so it's survived and is still frozen (due to the winter weather we're having here in Michigan). This photo is (obviously) a closeup of just one of the roses in it but I'll take a wider shot later so people can see the whole thing.

Now that is an amazing shot - I too would love to see the bigger picture. The colors are so vibrant and sharp - nice work!
