It's a heron alright. I need book on birds myself. There's so many. Nice Shot's of this heron though.TFS

love this image, the colours and detail are excellent. I also liked Paul's UK version of it but just because I know how difficult it is to capture birds in flight. Have to say I know how you feel about capturing wildlife especially birds makes you feel as I was out myself this morning at a near by frozen lake.
Anyway, super image and thank you for sharing it with us.
