Default Frozen Chickens

Actually, they seem to be okay but the garden went from this last night:

Frozen Chickens

to what I found this morning:

Deep Snow

Wulf

ps. Nb. slow shutter speed on both those - 20 seconds for the first one!

pps. ... and it's still coming down!

Poor little things, I hope they have got a thick covering of feathers to keep them warm. I love the second shot.

It's warmer out there than yesterday. Their water wasn't completely frozen this morning and it was okay when I checked it again a few minutes ago. Feathers are pretty good insulation and they've got plenty of bedding in the roosting area at the top of the coop.

Events like the melting of polar icecaps and the shifting of warm air and sea currents don't necessarily result in everywhere feeling warmer all the time. The concern about global warming is that there are measurable impacts of the increased levels of various gases in the atmosphere, caused by human activity, and there is concern about passing a tipping point where things go really haywire.

Wow! That's a lot of snow, and still coming! If they don't make it through....there's always Chicken Pot Pie!
