Default 1st Bokeh Attempt

First bokeh attempt. Been playing around a bit in Gimp also and probably decided it is suitable enough for me and cant seem to justify spending the $$ on Photoshop.

It is just the Nikkor 18-55mm DX VR that came with the camera. First DSLR in which I purchased about a month ago. Looking at a AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D to purchase soon hopefully. Anyone else have this lens? Any comments about it?

Great shot, Chad. Excellent bokeh indeed! I'm thinking of starting a bokeh social group. This would be a nice addition to the gallery. TFS

I love your composition and shallow DOF, it worked quite well for you here!

When one do not have the Muhla one must improvise as you did with Gimp.
The Bokeh effect is outstanding and stunning.

Great job, and you will love the 50mm. I just got mine for Christmas and I can't imagine being without it.
