Default Stupid

I am very excited about this photo; it's another example of my improving ability to take an idea, and present it in a photographic medium. I think I'm getting better at this

This is the first exposure that I've made a huge effort to control the lighting. I used diffusers, reflectors, and 4 different light sources to get the mood and aesthetic I was after.

If there is any interest, I would be more than willing to share a "how I took it" in the appropriate section; I had a lot of fun with this.

Stupid

As always, Enjoy!

Could you tell us what the idea behind it actually was?

Great take on a concept. Especially strong in black and white. It's amazing that you used 4 different light sources, I'd be interested in seeing a 'How I Took it' post for this one.

The lighting is great but I am trying to figure out how the picture works......what is the relationship between beer bottles and the message that you need a car fast? Like you said, this was your idea conceptually.......What did you want us to see? the message is the overwhelming focal point but your comments suggest that the lighting is where you put all of your effort....I might be missing something in translation or interpretation. I want to see what YOU want me to see.....

The lighting, in ANY photo is what makes the image. I placed emphasis on the lighting, because it's what made my image, and this is the first time that I've manipulated light to give me EXACTLY what I wanted.

The concept compared to the lighting was simple...

Drinking a whole lot of alcohol and then finding a car, fast (before you have time to sober up), is stupid.

It's a satire on the concept of drinking and driving. Nothing more.

That's what I want you to see.

Hope that cleared things up!

I think it's funny (in a cynical kind of way). Another little quote I think would be sort of funny is.. "Help me to my car." Great capture!
