The picture is awesome. The composition and expression, everything is working for me. You shot this at midday or close to it, without flash or a cloud in the sky. Naturally, the human eye wants to look at the brightest part of the frame. I think this picture would work best in color. Or if you could, dodge the child's face to like 10% brightness. Would you mind if I tinkered with it?

Nope. Just right. Awesome contrast. From a b/w snob, well done, sir! TFS

This was a quick edit, with more time and a higher resolution file, you can produce better results. I love this picture. really displays the sweet innocence and curiosity of childhood.

Nicely done. I always struggle to decide if my B&W treatments are right or not, getting more of an eye for it now though. I always find my favourite shots are of my little boy too. Would be nice to see this one in colour too.

thanks again. about the one in color... i don't think there is one. i think i used the b/w setting on my camera. i don't have any PP software, so i don't know how to do a color conversion. all my images came right out of the camera. if anyone would like to school me on shooting in regular color and then converting it to b/w, i would love to learn something.

Lovely shot. I do think it was better with the face highlighted a bit more. Still love it though, not overdone. Well done. TFS.
