Default Here it goes, first post and first shots!

Just starting a new hobby. I had a Nikon D60 a few months and just upgraded to the D90 a few days ago. Decided to take a little drive down to Murrells Inlet to try her out. Got down there an hour or so before sundown. Here are a few of my keepers.

Welcome to DPS. The bird shots are good - but the last two are stunning. Love the colours in the third and the lighting and the jetty running away into the photo in the 4th. Enjoy your camera. Will look forward to seeing more of your shots.

Welcome to DPS! Those are really nice shots. I like the way the bird in the first picture is glowing - very 3D. But the colors in your last two shots are outstanding. The last one, especially, with the dark blues and the lights on the pier, is my favorite. Can't wait to see more!

Welcome!

On your egret photo, very nice job managing the exposure. Not easily done on a white bird with the sun coming from the "wrong" direction.

And I really like the comp and reflections and subtle colors in your 3rd photo.

Very nice work.
