Default Moon & Sky

Last night (and the night before that) I was tring to take a decent shot of the moon. Tried a lot of things, but ithe picture always came blurry and the moon was too shiny. I was ready to leave and than i got it I think that's the best I can do now, beacause I have a point-and-shoot camera. Also I am posting two other pictures, but I don't really like them. Any tips and critiques?

I for one never shot the moon. I've shot the moon other way's. ( I'm only kidding, just a pun.) No, but for a point & shoot camera that ain't bad at all. It's a art by -it- self. Do a search on the other forums here on how to shoot the moon. These people are great here they can help you better than I can. That's what I would do, or should I say, that's what I'm gun-na do. Hang in there.TFS

To get a good shot of the moon, we need to mount the camera on a tripod, I use manual focus and manual mode settings, even I already used a 400mm lens + 1.4 extender on a full frame camera, its still not close enough, others used a total focal length of almost 2000mm. Hope this help.

You did a good effort in taking the shot, well done.

Also the brightness of the sky dictates the shutter speed, the first pic was taken in February of this year at about 8 pm, the sky then was a bit dark and not as bright.

The second pic was taken in October this year, the sky still bright, thats why the shutter speed I used was 1/500. Hope this help.
