Smile My Bubble Set (Macro Photography)

Hello first post here.

Ok, tons of people do this but I thought Id give it a shot. I tried this with 3 lenses. First I tried my 18-200mm vr and the results were good but not macrosish at all. It isnt a macro lens anyway. I then tried my 50mm prime by itself, then with a 4x, 2x and 1x magnifier. Again results were good but not what I wanted. I then put on my broken 70-200mm macro where I have to manually adjust the aperture on the lens then put it on the body of the camera and shoot from there. Working in somewhat darkness this was a pain in the ass. First I opened it up to 2.8 then focused, then took the lens off the body and manually adjusted to 22 then put it back on hoping that the focus remained. It worked.

I originally tried shooting with just a defuser on my SB800 but I wasnt getting the big blast of light that would show off the complete bubble. Then I put on my gary phong sphere thingy and had the same result. Then I propped my softbox up and rigged the sb800 to shoot through it. Finally the big blast of light I need.
