G'day guys new to this site so thought I would post a few photos and get an opinion.
The first one is my youngest being obsessed with a Lava lamp on Christmas eve. (just noticed it is not sharp? the original is clear focus of the face (must be a picasa issue) The second is my middle daughter riding my horse And the final one is the one I have a question about Do I photoshop out the shadows on the jump? I have tried a few methods and found none I like? Any suggestions? Otherwise should I Ieave the shadows in? Cheers Jase Last edited by stormysrider; 01-02-2010 at 11:29 AM. |

Welcome to DPS Jase and thanks for sharing these shots, a good selection from a great set on your picasa page.
Unfortunately, your images aren't showing in your post as you've linked to the picasa webpage, not the individual image itself. I'm not familiar with picasa, but somewhere there should be an option to provide a link to the image - if not, just right click on the image and open the it in a new tab, then copy the url into the post. The URL should look something like this......http://lh4.ggpht.com/_u_sPZEiVO28/Sz...otoshopped.jpg I love the lava lamp image, kids are fascinated by them aren't they? My son has been pestering me for one for ages. You might like to try recropping the image into a portrait and concentrating on the lamp and your daughters face, they are looking a little lost in the darkness in this wide shot. The horse riding shot is nicely composed and well exposed with none of the harsh shadows that you'd like to lose in the dog agility shot. Unfortunately, one of the few downsides of living in Australia is the harsh shadows that are a result of our intense midday sun. Personally, unless this is a shot for a pet food company, I'd just live with the shadows. You could try dodging the shadows to lighten them a little, which should give you a reasonable result. Cloning them out is a possibility, but unless you have a very steady hand, the results aren't going to be too pleasing. I'd live with it, it's a great shot regardless. Now if only I could turn my dog's ball obsession into something productive like this......
