Project 365 Days 1 & 2

Like a few people I see on here already, I have also picked up the challenge. Looking forward to pushing myself further this year and improving my photography!

Day 1. NYE fireworks, Yarra Bend (In the pouring rain with no cover so the photo didn't come out so well)



Day 2. King penguin at Melbourne Aquarium, I could have watched these guys for hours!

Great shots! I stayed home in the dry on NYE so thanks for sharing the first. Love the three level lighting in that first shot. Could you hear the Lord Mayor's 'Melbourne Moment' big bang from there?

The second shot is a ripper as well. I keep going past the aquarium but haven't been in since the penguins arrived. That was a couple of months ago now wasn't it? They certainly made a fuss about it as I recall.

Both shots are really well done, but my favorite is the second. That may have to do with the fact that I tend to love nature photography. Still, the closeness of the birds head and the wonderful effect that the depth of field gives to the background does make this an outstanding shot.

Yeah I was wishing I was in the dry! Didn't hear any terribly big bangs, to be honest I didn't think this year's fireworks were very good. I think the penguins are only there till Jan 26th? They are definately worth the trip in =)
