Like a few people I see on here already, I have also picked up the challenge. Looking forward to pushing myself further this year and improving my photography!
Day 1. NYE fireworks, Yarra Bend (In the pouring rain with no cover so the photo didn't come out so well) ![]() Day 2. King penguin at Melbourne Aquarium, I could have watched these guys for hours!

Both shots are really well done, but my favorite is the second. That may have to do with the fact that I tend to love nature photography. Still, the closeness of the birds head and the wonderful effect that the depth of field gives to the background does make this an outstanding shot.

Yeah I was wishing I was in the dry! Didn't hear any terribly big bangs, to be honest I didn't think this year's fireworks were very good. I think the penguins are only there till Jan 26th? They are definately worth the trip in =)
