Default New Year, New Zealand, New Photo! The strangely perfect Lake Tekapo

Happy new year to you all fellow photographers, It's been fun checking out what everyone has been upto over the holiday period. Me, I've been off on my holidays in New Zealand with my lovely girlfriend (whos pic of Milford Sound she shared here a couple of weeks ago).

This image I am sharing with you is of Lake Tekapo, a lake which is fed by glacial melt which is the basis of why the water is this surreal shade of blue. We were here about 3 weeks ago whilst on our camper van tour of NZ's south island.

I hope you enjoy my new years offering! hehe :0)

Marvelous shot, that. Simply stunning, Stevo! (Sorry, just getting over the Boxing Day test match and looking forward to the Sydney one - hence the Richie Benaud impersonation).

Anyway, great shot. Kiwiland is full of beautiful scenery isn't it. It looks like you both had fun and got some good photography in as well. Well done and TFS.

I'm more in to Billy Birmingham, he takes off Bill, Richie and Tony, better than themselves.

Still great scenery in NZ and great shots of Lake Tekapo. Well we know what we're talking about.

Cheers,

John W

Thanks guys, I dont really get the cricket references though im afraid - a fact that still baffles many aussies I speak to due to the fact that Im English... Theres only one sport for me and thats good old footy (the proper kind!)

NZ is such a beautiful country, so many different landscapes in such a small area - a photographers dream

Where's Frodo? What a lovely picture. My daughter and I just finished watching the Lord or the Rings DVD's.

What a spectacular shot, love the wild flowers in the foregorund and the stunning coloured water. I live in the North Island and have only been to ChristChurch, SI, but after seeing this shots and others on DPS hubby and I are planning a trip down this year.
