Hello,

I've been receiving the DPS newsletter for some time now and I guess it was time for me to join the forums and start the New Year right. I look forward to learning from so many talented photographers here. I have been currently taking pictures with various phones, point and shoot cameras and messing around with some photo image software. I am getting a D90 soon and I plan on utilizing the DPS's site resources to become a better photographer.

The angry chicken (R.I.P.!) belonged to a neighbor that lives down the road and the kitty belongs to me.

I love the angry chicken. The fence adds a nice contextual touch. I, too, have been receiving the DPS newsletter and have vowed to participate in the forums in the new year. I just joined the DPS 365 Project. Enjoy the D90 when you get it - dSLRs are a whole new fantastic world!

Welcome to the forums and enjoy that bad boy. DSLRs will give you a whole lot of new opportunities that I hope you'll learn and love!

Nice shot of the chicken....good choice of camera...I have a D90 too. This is the place to be.

The angry chicken is one of my favorite shots. I didn't get a chance to eat him or any of his neighbors

, not that I would have wanted to anyway. The area that the chickens live in is disgusting.
The lady who kept them there, also let her 2 dogs out to do their "business" in that same area.

I shot a picture where one of the dogs is caught in the act. It's camouflaged pretty well so you would have to look carefully. (My fiance and I have an inside joke that started with a smilie icon for FB that she had sent me one day called "poopy smiles". I just had to take the pic and send it to her.)
